Aντιγράφω μια παράγραφο από άρθρο του European Advisory Board On Cat Diseases για τον εμβολιασμό σε γάτες με χρόνια νεφρική ανεπάρκεια:
"In conclusion, however, as most of the cats with chronic kidney disease are of older age and likely have received vaccinations in the past, the risk for such a cat to acquire infectious diseases is considered low, and vaccination might not be necessary in these cats. Ideally, antibody levels at least against FPV should be determined (Mende et al., 2014b), and only cats lacking protective antibodies should be vaccinated. If antibody measurement is not possible, booster vaccination is not recommended for a cat with chronic kidney disease that has been vaccinated previously and is kept strictly indoors. If potential exposure to FPV, FHV-1, or FCV cannot be excluded, an intranasal vaccine should be given if available."

Και μια διαφορετική άποψη:
"
How often should senior/geriatric cats be vaccinated? How should I vaccinate cats with stable chronic disease? Whether older cats respond to vaccination in the same manner as younger animals do is inadequately studied. In the absence of data, the Advisory Panel recommends that healthy older cats and those with chronic but stable disease conditions receive vaccines in the same manner as younger adults. Less frequent vaccination is not advised due to inherent immunosenescence. Further, more frequent immunization is not warranted in aged patients with a lifelong history of immunization as data from other species suggests the memory response remains intact throughout life and protective immunity can be effectively maintained between boosts."
